If you are looking to get a pet for your holidays the best place to look is your local animal shelter. There are so many great animals at these shelters it doesn't hurt just to take a look. We have adopted our 2 dogs and 4 four cats from our local shelters. And I can't tell you enough what wonderful pets they are. Going through the adoption process is easy and they work with you to make sure you and your new friend will have an easy transition. The best part I like is your pet will already been spayed or neutered. Which is expensive if you were to go to your local vet the average price is between $200.00-$400.00 and that doesn't include any shots you may need to give them.
Not only can you adopt but most shelters run on volunteers and help is always needed. If you have extra time become a volunteer. There are so many ways to help. We are always dropping off newspapers, dog treats, etc... to our local shelters. They need towels, laundry soap, newspapers, litter, food just to name a few. So If you can help in that way that would be greatly appreciated.
